Battlefield 3 Sniper Rifles

The sniper rifles in Battlefield 3 will be comprised of real world rifles that are in service in various armies around the world. Battlefield 3 will feature two standard semi-automatic sniper rifles that both sides start out with. Sniper rifles in Battlefield 3 can be customized with a variety of scope and other options.
MK11
The MK11 is based on the SR-25 assault rifle and provides great accuracy with the benefits of an assault rifle’s larger magazine and mobility. The MK11 is one of the brand new rifles in Battlefield 3, and makes its first appearance in the series.

SVD

The SVD in Battlefield 3 is the starting sniper rifle for the Russian side. It’s a semi-automatic sniper rifle that’s been in use for over 50 years.
M340A5
The M40A5 sniper rifle in Battlefield 3 is closely related to the M24 which was used in previous Battlefield games.
SV98
The SV98 is a Russian made bolt action sniper rifle and is available in Battlefield 3 as an unlock for both US and Russian forces.
M98B
The Barret M98 is a bolt action sniper rifle chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum round, and is one of the last sniper rifles to be unlocked in Battlefield 3.
M39
The M39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle is an unlockable semi-automatic sniper rifle in Battlefield 3, and is one of the last sniper rifles to be unlocked.
SKS

The SKS is a semi automatic sniper rifle that’s unlocked early in Battlefield 3. The Russian made rifle is great at close and medium ranges, and sports a 20 round magazine.
M82
The M85 .50 cal sniper rifle has been replaced in Battlefield 3 with the semi-automatic M85, which makes its first appearance in Battlefield 3. The M85 went into service into 1989 and is still used around the world.
TYPE 88
Type 88 is a Chinese made semi automatic sniper rifle introduced in China in 1988, and has been used ever since. It appeared in the previous few Battlefield games, and is set to reappear in Battlefield 3.
